Nyungwe Forest Lodge
Nyungwe Forest Lodge is located on the edge of Nyungwe Forest National Park in the south western part of Rwanda. It is found within Nyungwe Forest National Park. Nyungwe Forest Lodge is a luxurious accommodation facility with and African traditional setting that offers its guest five- star standard services.
The Lodge boasts of 22 spacious villa rooms and 2 VIP suites, giving its guests breathtaking views overlooking the forest canopy from a steep hill on one side and a green tea- plantation on the other.
Nyungwe Forest Lodge has a main lodge that features a boma where guests can wine and dine with friends and family or simply chill, catch a drink or coffee and simply take in the beautiful scenery. The main lodge also has an outdoor heated pool that faces the forest and guests can enjoy a warm swim in the pool.
The Lodge has a walkway that passes through the tea plantation and guests can take morning or evening walks from their rooms to the lodge; with beautiful sights and sounds of birds whistling and tweeting in trees within the forest and among the bushes.
Guests staying at the Nyungwe Forest Lodge in Nyungwe Forest National Park will have plenty of chances to see various species of primates such as monkeys, baboons and even chimpanzees that live in Nyungwe Forest.

- Primate Safaris: Given the lodge’s strategic location within Nyungwe Forest National Park, guests staying in this luxurious accommodation can see a variety of primate species such as colobus monkeys, chimpanzees, and even some baboons.
- Birding: Given that Nyungwe Forest National Park is home to over 300 bird species, guests staying at the Nyungwe Forest Lodge can engage in bird watching activities where they can spot birds like; Melaenornis ardesiacus, Regal Sunbird, Ruwenzori Batis, Black and White casqued Hornbill, Batis diops, Crytospiza Jackson bird and the Yellow-eyed Black Flycatcher among so many more species.
- Forest Nature Walks: The Lodge is a great haven within Nyungwe Forest and guests staying at this lodge can go on a guided nature walk within the forest and to the tea plantation. These guided walks can be done at any time of the day from morning to evening depending on the guest’s preference.

How to Get to the Lodge.
The Lodge is located within Nyungwe Forest National Park and can be accessed by both roads and by air. One can drive or hire a rental car and embark on a 4hr drive to the Lodge or board a plane from Kigali International Airport to Kamembe Airport. The flight from Kigali Airport to Kamembe Airport is about 2-3 hours and once at Kamembe Airport, you can drive to the Lodge.
