This Lodge in Rwanda consists of 23 self- contained private cottages, each with a fireplace. The suites in the lodge have been built and designed to give its guests uttermost comfort. The lodge has also been constructed using eco-friendly materials like bamboo.

  • Single Bedroom: The single bedrooms in Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge can accommodate a maximum of three people, has 1 king-size bed, Wi-Fi, a private fridge, coffee, and tea making facility, air conditioner and fire place, flat-screen cable TV and with a view of wonderful gardens within the lodge’s premises.
  • Triple Beds room: These rooms can only accommodate three people and offers guests great views of Sabyinyo Mountains. Guests staying in the room can also access; cable TV, room service, coffee and tea making facility, a private fridge, air conditioning and a fire place in case of cold evenings.
  • Twin Beds Room: The Twin Beds room can accommodate a maximum of two people and offers guests amenities such as; a private fridge, Wi-Fi, coffee and tea making section, air-condition, cable TV and a fire place.

Activities to do at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge.

Guests staying at the Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge in Rwanda can engage in the following activities while on their stay at the Lodge;

  • Mountain Gorilla Trekking: Since the lodge is within close proximity to Volcanoes National Park, tourists can easily travel to and from the Lodge to the national park when going gorilla trekking. Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge also organizes gorilla trekking safaris for its guests with a scanned copy of the guest’s gorilla trekking permit sent to their email addresses as proof of payment. There are 10 gorilla groups in the park that are available for tourists to track, with the Susa group being the most tracked gorilla group by tourists. Gorilla trekking permits cost USD 1500 dollars in Rwanda.
  • Volcanoes Hike: Guests staying at Le Bambou can take part in hiking expeditions to Mount Bisoke or Mount Karisimbi which are located within Volcanoes National Park. The hiking expeditions give hikers chance to see the amazing attractions within the Virunga Massif such as; bird species, tree and plant species as well as various primate species like monkeys and mountain gorillas.
  • Dian Fossey Hike: Tourists staying at the lodge can as well go hiking to the gravesite of the American primatologist Dian Fossey. This activity has become a highly sought after safari activity by many tourists visiting Volcanoes National Park. The hike costs 75 USD and involves a 30 minutes’ drive from the park headquarters in Kinigi to the head trail leading to Karisoke research camp.
  • Other activities that Le Bambou offers its guests include; golden monkey tracking, an excursion to the twin lakes, hike to the waterfalls in Musanze, community walks, intore dance troupe and a visit to a local school.

How to get to Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge.

Le Bambou is roughly a 2-3 hour’s drive from Kigali International Airport and a 10 minutes drives from Volcanoes National Park’s headquarters in Kinigi. Just in case you a coming from Goma in the DRC, the lodge is about 28 minutes away from Goma International Airport.
