You can get a visitor visa on arrival at the airport in Kigali, but it is advisable to apply in advance as this can speed up your entry process.
How much is a chimpanzee trekking permit in Rwanda?
A single day Chimpanzee trekking permit costs $95 USD per person. This is payable in cash upon arrival at the park and the fee includes access to the park for the rest of the day after you have finished trekking with the chimps. Prices for multi-day treks vary according to the duration of the trek and will be set by the park’s operators.
What to bring on a chimpanzee trekking tour in Rwanda?
Comfortable walking shoes are essential in order to tackle the trails. The terrain can be rough in places, so sturdy footwear is essential! You should also consider packing sun cream, a hat, water and a snack just in case you get hungry during your trek. Please note that all food and drink purchased in the park must be consumed on site and cannot be taken out of the park.
