BUHOMA COMMUNITY HAVEN LODGE
Buhoma Community Haven Lodge : Buhoma community haven lodge is located in Buhoma sector in Bwindi Impenetrable national park. It is a mid-range lodge and is perfect for tourists on a budget.
Buhoma is home to five gorilla families in Bwindi Impenetrable national park thus making the lodge perfect for tourists trekking mountain gorillas in Buhoma sector of the national park.
The lodge is located near to the park headquarters and is easily accessed from the main road about 5 minutes’ drive and is strategically positioned offering clear views of the national park.
Buhoma Haven lodge in Bwindi impenetrable national park was opened in December 2014 with the aim of providing visitors in the park with midrange accommodation.
The lodge was constructed with funds from Buhoma Mukono Community Development Association (BMCDA) and they used locally sourced building material and man power which in turn created a lot of job opportunities for the local people.
Buhoma community haven lodge consists of three beautiful self-contained cottages, one family cottage, six twins /double cottages, two non-self-contained twin Bandas, camps and many more.
The cottages are all constructed with a local African touch and have wide verandahs where tourists can relax and unwind in the evening. The lodge offers its guests spectacular views of famous Bwindi impenetrable forest; along with the soft and pleasant sounds of nature like birds humming and monkeys chattering. The lodge presents the perfect atmosphere for visitors to relax after a long day of trekking mountain gorillas in the forest.
Each of the rooms at the lodge is elevated off the ground to show off the spectacular forest canopies in Bwindi forest. The spacious, large rooms comprise large comfortable beds which have been equipped with treated mosquito nets to protect guests from mosquito and bug bites.
The lodge also has a two-storied lounge is just a short stroll from the guest cottages. The lounge contains well-cushioned wood-framed seating around coffee tables, a few stools and a cozy fireplace.
The Bandas at Buhoma community haven lodge have been wonderfully constructed using the local materials and with a feel of African architectural design making the entire lodge very unique and spectacular in its own way. All rooms in the lodge are well maintained and facilitated with both hot and cold water and flushing toilets. The lodge uses green energy and keeps a sustainable program with its neighboring communities.
The lodge provides its guests with delicious cuisines at its restaurant with an option of room service for guests who wish to dine in their rooms. Dinner is always served with a 5 course meal with a combination of both the Western and western dishes with a blend of an African cuisine including fruits and vegetables which have all been sourced from the local markets.

Getting to Buhoma Community Haven Lodge.
The lodge can be accessed by either by road or air. By road, the lodge can be accessed by visitors travelling from Kampala via Mbarara which takes approximately 8 hours of driving. Visitors can also be accessed by air from Entebbe international airport or Kajjansi airfield and land in Kihihi airstrip and then drive to the lodge.
