Detailed Itinerary for 8 Days Rwanda Uganda Safari from Kigali.
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Depending on your time of arrival in Kigali, our company representative will pick you up from Kigali International Airport and transfer you to your hotel. In case you arrive in Kigali early (morning hours), you will embark on a tour of Kigali city where you can visit places like the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center, Kimironko Market, Caplaki Craft Village and Nyamirambo Women’s Center. Dinner and overnight stay at your designated hotel.
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National park (Approximately 7 hours’ drive)
Our driver guide will pick you up from your hotel after your breakfast and transfer you to a hotel of your preferred lodge in Bwindi National Park. During the journey from Kigali to Bwindi, you may have a city tour and get some history on Rwanda’s culture and history until you finally arrive at the hotel. You will then enjoy the atmosphere close to the home of the endangered species. Dinner will be served at your lodge.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Day in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
Early morning after your breakfast at the hotel and lunch is packed, you will be met by our driver guide again who will take you to the park headquarters for the brief before you start off the trek. This brief is done at 7 am at the headquarters. The gorilla trek can take from 2 hours to almost half a day until the gorillas are finally met. When you finally encounter the gorillas, you are allowed one hour to admire these creatures but at a distance of 6 meters.
After finishing the trek, you will then be taken for lunch and you will relax at your hotel. You may do an optional village tour in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Evening Game Drive
Have breakfast in the morning and check out of your lodge. You will meet up with your driver guide and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park with lunch en route. Upon your arrival in the park, you will embark on a game drive where you stand a chance of viewing a variety of wildlife like elephants, leopards, antelopes, buffalos, hippos, waterbucks and so many more. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 5: Lion Tracking Experience and Afternoon Boat Cruise
Have your breakfast early in the morning and then head out to the park for your lion tracking experience. This activity is conducted in Kasenyi Plains and commences at 7 am in the morning. It takes about 3-4 hours depending on the location of the lions in the park and you will be accompanied by a team of expat researchers and a park ranger. After your lion tracking experience, you will embark on a short game drive in Kasenyi plains which is noted for its large wildlife populations. Later head back to your lodge for lunch and relax.
After your lunch break, you will head out for an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. Enjoy viewing wildlife as they bask along the lake shores including hippos, crocodiles, elephants, antelopes, waterbucks, and many more. Later return back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay same as above.
Day 6: Morning Game Drive and Evening Community Tour
Wake up at leisure and have a relaxed breakfast meal at your lodge. You will then embark on a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. This is your perfect opportunity to search for any animals that you may not have seen during your stay in the park especially the Big Cats including leopards. Head back to your lodge later for lunch and relax for the rest of the afternoon. Later in the evening, you will visit one of the local communities within the park and you will get to interact with the locals and watch dance and singing performances from the local dance group. Dinner and overnight stay the same as the previous night.

Day 7: Transfer Back to Kigali
Wake up at leisure and have breakfast at the lodge. Check out and meet up with your driver guide. You will embark on an 8-9 hours’ drive back to Kigali with lunch en route. Arrive in Kigali in the evening and check into your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 8: Departure
Have breakfast at the hotel and checkout. Depending on your time of departure from Kigali, you can do an optional city tour visiting some of the sites that you did not get to visit on your first day of arrival in Kigali. Drop off at Kigali International Airport.
