5 Days Uganda gorilla & chimpanzee habituation safari : This 5 days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee habituation safari will be conducted in Bwindi Impenetrable national park and Kibale national park respectively. Both the gorilla and chimpanzee habituation experiences will offer you an opportunity to spend four hours each with habituated gorillas in Bwindi national park and chimpanzees in Kibale national park. Of course your count down starts once you have located a group of gorillas and chimpanzees. The activity takes the entire day so you will need to carry packed lunch on the day that you are scheduled to do each of the activities.

Detailed itinerary for 5 Days Uganda Gorilla & Chimpanzee Habituation Safari.
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park.
You will be welcomed by our driver guide at Entebbe international airport who will give you a short briefing of your safari. You will then commence your journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park. The journey to the park takes a whole day passing through Masaka with a stopover at the Equator for photos and another stop over at Igongo Cultural Centre in Mbarara for lunch.
After lunch you will continue the journey to Rushaga sector which is located in the southern part of Bwindi national park. though the journey is long its filled with spectacular views of the Kigezi hills, landscapes, beautiful scenery, terraced farmlands among others, upon arrival in the park you will continue to the lodge check in, have dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla habituation experience in Bwindi impenetrable national park
After an early breakfast you will carry your packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the rules and regulations of gorilla habituation. Gorilla habituation is a process where the wild gorillas are trained to get familiar with human presence. Gorilla habituation process involves a team of conservationists, researchers, rangers, visitors, gorilla doctors and starts at around 7:30am.
Gorilla habituation experience gives you an opportunity to spend four hours with the mountain gorillas under habituation. During the four hours you will be observing and monitoring their behaviors, habits, giving each gorilla a name, taking photos and recording videos which make your safari exciting and memorable. After the habituation experience you will trek back to the park headquarters, meet up with your driver guide and drive to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale national park
You will wake up, have an early breakfast and check out of the lodge. You will then meet up with your driver/guide and transfer to Kibale national park located in the western part of Uganda. On your way to the park you will pass via Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth national park where you will have a chance some wildlife animals during your road trip. Ishasha sector is famously known for the tree climbing lions which will be viewed lying up in the acacia, fig tree branches during the game drive. After the game drive in Ishasha sector, you will have lunch and then continue the journey to the park which takes about 6 to 7 hours’ drive. Upon arrival in the park you will continue to the lodge check in, have dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Chimpanzee habituation experience
After an early breakfast from your lodge, you will carry your packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kanyachu Visitors Centre for a briefing about the rules and regulations of chimpanzee habituation. Chimpanzee habituation process is done by a team of researchers, rangers, visitors and trekking in the jungle starts at around 6:30 am.
Chimpanzee habituation experience takes a full day and during trekking you will be able to view some primates like black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, l’hoest monkeys, blue monkeys, some animals species like bush elephants, birds like African grey parrot, olive long tailed cuckoo among others. Once the chimpanzee family has been found, you will be allowed to spend four hours with them in their natural habitat where you will get an opportunity of watching them wake up, feed, breastfeed young ones, hunt, play in the trees, do patrol and building new nests for the next night.
After the breathtaking chimpanzee habituation experience, you will trek back to the starting point where you will meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Departure to Kampala
Start your morning at leisure and with a relaxed breakfast meal. Meet up with your driver guide for a morning nature walk in Bigodi swamp walk. The nature walk takes about 2 to 3 hours and offers you with great views of wildlife species including primate species like baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, red tailed monkeys, l’Hoest monkeys, animals like bush pigs, otters, Sitatunga, bushbucks and various bird species like the great blue Turaco, papyrus Gonolek, white winged warbler, plant and tree species, butterflies, listen to sweet sounds of the birds, breath fresh air, enjoy cool breeze among others. After the nature walk you will start the journey to Kampala with a stopover in Mbarara town for lunch.
After lunch you will proceed with the journey to Kampala where you will reach early evening and your driver guide will drop you off at any place of convenience or at Entebbe airport in case you have a flight to catch. End of Tour
