Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Mount Elgon National Park.
Arrival & Transfer to Mt.Elgon: On Day 1 of your 5 Days Mount Elgon National Park Safari, meet up with your guide upon your arrival at Entebbe Airport. Alternative, you can have your guide/driver pick you up from your hotel in Kampala. Proceed with your transfer to Mount Elgon national park with a stopover at Mbale for a four hour hike to the Khauka caves. Alternatively, you can go to the viewpoint through Nabuyoga loop where you will be able to see the Jackson summit and Wagagi peak.
Upon your arrival in the park, check into your lodge for dinner and accommodation.
Day 2: Guided Nature Walks.
Guided Nature Walks: Have your breakfast in the morning and drive to Kapkwai Forest Exploration Center for a guided nature walk. You can combine the 7km bamboo trail hike to Kapkwai Cave with the 3km ridge trek to the beautiful Chebonet Falls.
Alternatively, you can take a full-day hike through the tropical bamboo forest to the Tutum Cave where you stand a chance to see primates, birds and wonderful flora such as the Elgon tik and Elgon Olive.
Later drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Hike to Sipi Falls.
Hike to Sipi Falls: Wake in the morning and have your breakfast. Depending on how energetic you are feeling today, you can take a long or short hiking expedition to Sipi Falls. These hiking tours are organized by the local community living outside the park. If you are looking to have a different view of the magnificent cascade, try abseiling alongside the 1st Sipi waterfall. You can also try fishing at the 3rd Sipi waterfall in case you are a keen angler. Head back to your lodge for lunch and relax at your lodge for the rest of the evening.
Dinner and accommodation at your lodge.
Day 4: Coffee Tour or Budadiri Hike.
Coffee Tour: Have breakfast from your hotel early in the morning. Meet up with your guide/driver and drive to some of the coffee plantations in Mbale. Visit the Sipi Widows Group for a guided walk around the coffee farms as you learn how to plant coffee, harvest, grind, store and clean the beans. You will also have an opportunity to interact with some of the locals in the area, learn about life of the Sabiny people and participate in traditional weaving. Take part in cooking classes and learn how the local women prepare traditional delicacies. You will also get to taste what you have prepared.
Budadiri Hike (Optional): Alternatively, you can opt to hike from Budadiri to the Mudange Cliffs, which are commonly known as the “walls of death.” They are situated at the boundary of the national park.

Later return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala.
Transfer Back to Kampala: After having a relaxed and hearty breakfast at your lodge, meet up with your guide/driver and drive back to Kampala. Depending on your time of arrival in the city, you can take a half day tour of Kampala city. Later have your guide drop you off at a hotel of your choice in Kampala or at Entebbe International Airport in case you want to board your flight back home.
