Day 1: Pickup and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Get up early and eat breakfast while you wait for a Explore Rwanda Tours representative. You will then begin the 7-hour journey to Lake Bunyonyi, making various stops along the route. Southwestern Uganda features some of the nicest landscapes in Uganda. The picturesque scenery, enormous wetlands, and Mpanga forest will take your breath away. Prepare to see the locals maintaining their crops and caring for their long-horned Ankole cattle.
Additionally, there will be a stop at the equator crossing in Kayabwe for photographs, refreshments, and the chance to buy a local gift. Following the canoe excursion, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.
Following lunch at your lodge, you will embark on an intriguing cultural trip with a local guide, giving you the opportunity to engage with the Batwa and Bakiga people who reside in the villages surrounding the lake. During the cultural tour, you will be able to learn about the local people’s culture, traditions, and way of life, as well as visit their markets, farmlands, and learn how to dig, visit traditional healers, primary schools, and health facilities, learn how to make local beer from bananas, taste their local dishes, enjoy traditional entertainments, and listen to ancient stories, among other activities. After the cultural trip, you will return to the resort for some leisure, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Quad Biking/Cycling/Hiking
