Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Depending on your location on the first day of the 3 days Lake Bunyonyi safari our driver guide will pick you up from the hotel, brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Lake Bunyonyi which is located in southwestern Uganda.
On the way you will have a stopover at the Equator in Kayabwe where you will buy craft souvenirs, take photos and then proceed with another stopover in Mbarara town for lunch. After lunch you will continue the journey which will be filled with spectacular views of the countryside, rolling hills, terraced farmlands, plantations, beautiful landscapes among others. Upon arrival you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Boat cruise and afternoon cultural tour
After breakfast on the second day of the 3 days Lake Bunyonyi safari your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for amazing boat cruise where you will be able to explore some of the islands like the punishment island where you will listen to the story behind it, view mammals along the shores, water birds, enjoy the beautiful scenery, terraced farmlands, rolling hills, meet with the local people who will be canoeing to their gardens or homesteads and school children going to school. After the canoe ride you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will go for an interesting cultural tour with a local guide where you will get an opportunity to interact with the Batwa and Bakiga people who live in the villages around the lake. During the cultural tour you will be able to learn about the local people cultural, tradition, way of living, visit their markets, farmlands and learn how to dig, visit the traditional healer, primary schools, health facilities, learn how to make local beer from bananas, taste their local dishes, enjoy traditional entertainments, listen to ancient stories among others. After the cultural tour you will return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Departure to Kampala
On the last day of the Uganda tour, you will have a relaxed breakfast while listening to sweet sounds of birds and enjoying breathtaking views of the mist rising off the lake, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kampala. On the way you will have en-route lunch in Mbarara town where after you will proceed to Kampala arriving early evening. Upon arrival your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop off at the hotel in Kampala depending on your schedule.
