Day 1: Pickup from Kigali and Transfer to Ruhengeri/ Musanze.
Pickup & Transfer to Ruhengeri: Upon your arrival in Kigali, your guide from Explore Rwanda Tours will pick you from Kigali International Airport or from your hotel in Kigali city. You will then embark on a half day tour of Kigali city where you will places such as; Kigali Genocide Memorial, Camp Kigali, Caplaki Craft Village, and Kimironko Market among others. Have lunch and then proceed with your transfer to Ruhengeri, with a stopover at the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. The lakes are famous for their natural beauty and vast population of bird species. Upon your arrival in Musanze, located in Ruhengeri district, spend the evening at leisure relaxing at the lodge as you prepare for the next day. You can also spend the evening visiting the neighboring village communities. Dinner and accommodation at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge.
Day 2: Ibyi’wachu Cultural Tour & Transfer back to Kigali.
Iby’iwacu Cultural Tour: Wake in the morning and have breakfast at your lodge. Later meet up with your guide and drive to the Iby’iwacu community village, which is located just a few kilometers outside Volcanoes National Park. This community is filled with individuals who were once poachers who have reformed and now actively participate in conservation projects that are run in the park. Visiting the Iby’iwacu community village is a good way to experience the Rwanda culture through music, dance and drumming performances from the local intore dance group. You will also get a chance to learn more about the indigenous cultures in Rwanda. Later drive back to your lodge for lunch and later transfer back to Kigali city. Upon your arrival in the city, you can have your guide drop you off at your preferred hotel or at the airport. In case you still have some to spare before your flight back home, you can embark on a brief shopping sprint and grab yourself and loved ones some souvenirs. End of Rwanda Safari Tour.
